Prion 2014 Scientific Program

The 10th edition of the world’s largest research congress on prions and protein misfolding diseases will be titled "PRIONS: EPIGENETICS and NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASES — Shaping the future of prion research".

The world's leading researchers in the prion field will gather to mix, share, and discuss their findings and build the future of prion research together. The Organizers of the Congress are working to make sure that the latest findings from the prion field — spanning from the physiology of prions to the emerging role of other proteins acting as prions in neurodegenerative diseases — are drawn attention to and are shared within the international scientific community.

The intensive 4-day Congress will feature workshops, lectures with plenty of time for Q&A and posters viewing sessions dedicated to the following themes:

  • Protein structure and biology
  • Epigenetics and neurodegeneration
  • Prion diseases in animals
  • Prion diseases and prion-like diseases in humans

Pre-congress Young Researchers training May 25-26, 2014

On Sunday May 25 and Monday May 26, before the PRION 2014 Congress is officially open, free workshops dedicated to Science Communication for the selected Young Researchers organized and sponsored by the NeuroPrion Association will take place.

PRION 2014 Satellite event

A satellite meeting on “Biophysics of Amyloids and Prions” will be held in Naples, Italy, (May 25-26, 2014). The meeting aims to cover the emerging field of biophysical approaches to understanding amyloid and prion formation, and deciphering the structural basis for self-propagating protein conformations.
